Volunteers New
The Festival is powered by its volunteers. A love of great music and a passion for service brings together a community of volunteers dedicated to planning and producing our world-class event. Volunteering with the Mission Folk Music Festival is a rewarding experience and a great way to support the Festival!
Volunteers are asked to commit to volunteering 12-15 hours during the Festival, (or 25-30 hours pre and post Festival), July 22, 23 and 24. Volunteers will ideally be available all three days to do a 5 hour shift between the hours of 10am and midnight. Duties vary from building the day stages to meal prep for volunteers. (Please see below)
New this year: Our Volunteer Portal. The portal allows volunteers to create profiles and identify their particular skills and interests. Once filled out, volunteer profiles will be maintained year over year and will allow volunteers to receive updates about the festival, volunteer team information, and Mission Folk communications year round.
We welcome a broad range of individuals and groups to volunteer at the Festival. Questions can be directed to our Volunteer Coordinator, Merlyn Horton at volunteer@missionfolk.ca.

Volunteer Opportunities at MFMF
The Festival offers many different ways to contribute to our overall success.

Site Build and Tear Down
We are always in need of people to help us set up and clear the magic that happens in the Park. Site Build happens in the five days before the Festival and the five days afterwards. Volunteers are required to do 30 hours of volunteer work in these positions. We need people to build stages, set up tents, decorate stages and provide food to this crew. Please consider selecting this crew if you have time and want to enjoy the Festival without having to do any work during the weekend.

Audience Services
We like to make sure our audiences are well looked after and you can help with that! Volunteers in this area will help at the Box Office and Front Gate greeting our guests and managing tickets. Or you could volunteer at our Festival Central tent which will host our Information Booth, Merchandise and Raffle sales. We will be in need of volunteers with medical credentials to keep us all safe in our First Aid tent.

Event Services
We are in need of volunteers to help out with the Volunteer Hospitality tent, and in the Bistro serving beer. If you have an interest in helping children, you might want to volunteer for our Wee Folks area. If you have a passion for recycling and making sure our Park stays clean, maybe our Environment crew is for you.

Music Services
These crews are responsible for managing our sound and technical requirements and for hosting our artists. Opportunities here include checking in artists, hosting artists in your home while they are here (billeting), stage crews, photography, moving equipment between stages and driving musicians to and from the Festival.
If you have a talent or skill you’d like to share, and don’t see it here please let us know.
