Introducing our 2022 Artist-in-Residence!
Ostwelve, aka Ronnie Dean Harris, is a Stō:lo/St’át’imc/Nlaka’pamux multimedia artist, performing Indigenous hip hop out of the Coast Salish Territory, based in New Westminster. starting in his teens, he has toured the globe showcasing his original music. With a major focus on hiphop since the beginning, Ostwelve’s style can shift and shape into various rhythms and time signatures – from spoken word fury to dance floor deadly. “I rap for sovereignty, protection of matriarchy and to clear ways for future generations,” he says.
Most recently, Os has toured with the BC World Music Collective around the Pacific Northwest and collaboration with bands like Mad Riddim and the Leela Gilday Collective.
As well, he has composed music for various TV, film and media projects. With multiple projects in a variety of realms on the go, he is currently performing as the voice of “Dad/Walter” on PBS animated series “Molly Of Denali”.
