Festival Choir
Come Sing With Us!
The Mission Folk Music Festival, under the direction of Choir Director Deborah Handley, has nurtured a community-centered choir that brings together audience members with festival artists to produce the Festival Choir Project. Audience members and festival artists sing together, in concert at the Festival. This Festival Choir is inclusive, empowering, and welcomes all who want to sing.

For 2023, the Festival Choir Project takes its inspiration from the Prince Edward Island based Songs for a Small Planet, a songwriting project that invites songwriters to address the impacts of the climate crisis on themselves and their communities. The Choir Project will explore a repertoire of songs that celebrate the environment, the earth, and the power of community to leave the world in better shape for future generations.
Community rehearsals begin in July. More details to come. Though not mandatory, these two sessions can be helpful. On site Festival rehearsals will happen three times over the weekend with the Big Sing scheduled to open Mainstage on Sunday night. Please remember that the Festival Choir Project is about singing in community. All voices are welcome and encouraged.
We look forward to singing together again!
